I got a 20.1" LCD a while ago (running 1400x1050 since), and I recently tested a dual-monitor setup with another CRT running @ 1280x1024.

I removed the CRT a couple days ago, and changed my monitor setup to be single in Nvidia Control Panel.
All was peachy for a couple days or so, and one day Windows boots at 1360x768 or some odd resolution like that...
So no biggie, I go back to Control Panel to change, and BAM 1400x1050 isn't there, only 1280x1024, and 1440x900 followed by 1600x1200 (which my monitor can't support).
I'm on Vista right now, so the ability to add a "Custom" resolution using the classic Nvidia Control Panel isn't present.

I've tried rebooting, reinstalling the 169 driver, switching DVI ports, but to no avail.

Look in the driver control panel for a "manage custom resolutions".

That option doesn't exist... I remember seeing it before...

EDIT: I tried this before, but it didn't work the same time... I unplugged my monitor and powered if off, plugged it back in, bam 1400x1050 shows up in modes wtf?

Is your monitor seen by the system by name or is it a generic plug and play monitor? If its seen as a plug and play monitor it will need the driver for it to see all of the available resolutions, otherwise you need to force it by creating a custom resolution.
