I know I know, keyboard and mouse are so much better for precision and what not, but I grew up on consoles and just prefer and game pad for games like Gears of War.
So im looking for a good gaming controller for the PC to be used with windows XP. What do you suggest?

Have you looked into something like the Nostromo N52? It takes a little getting used to but once you do it is real nice.

thats what ive got, but for some games it keeps scrolling up(not a controller issue) UNLESS i plug in 2 controllers into the converter.. very strange i think

but when 2 are in there is no problem.. i like the setup

For FPS games I use a WolfKing Warrior, and for my Gamepad I bought a Logitech Rumblepad2 before the Xbox360 came out

I have the N52 and love it. Though there are a few improvements I would make if they came out with a newer version. Rumble for one thing but I alway found the thumb button to be slightly off center. I also would like to have more of a compressible material for the palm rest. Maybe a silica base pad instead of the hard plastic so the palm rest conforms to the palm instead of the other way around. but all in all the N52 is probably the best designed game pad that I can think of.

Some of those are good, some are ok...but if you have PS2 controllers laying around your best bet by far is to just get a USB adapter.
