Guys, my PNY 9800gx2 is on its way, but it doesnt come with the 6pin-8pin adapter...so im looking for the difference between the regular 6 pin and the 8 pin PCIe connector.
The thing is, there are no pcie adapters around here (argentina)
So, is there ANYONE that can tell me the difference between those 2? and add a pic for comparision?
Thank you guys VERY much.
Victor.

So, ohter 2-pin is a ground, and now you can DIY.
Also there can be a molex-to-8pin connector in the box. It vary from vendor to vendor.
Third way is to by an existent cable.

Almost every video card has those plugs. Yes but the 9800gx2 doesnt come with those adapters. I think you should try upgrading your PSU to 1000W or 1700W. I personally have a couple and they all have those plugs.

OMG! 1700W !!!! Crazy man
Almost all 750-850W PSUs, especially w/ modular cables have this pins. Such as my CoolerMaster Real Power M850 (RS-850-ESBA).
VIctorj, also you can try to just close this 2 pins into circuit with a small piece of wire. But be careful, do not close +12V on Ground.

I bought an alligator clip and will put one end in each of the 2 grounded holes. I've seen people do it with a paper clip on the ATI 2900 card.
