so now im really ready to order... cpu will be Xeon E3110 , cooled by a TRUE .. i chose E3110 over E8400 since the its $187.99 and E8400 is $209

for memory im planning on getting :
G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000)

main drive:
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA

psu will be the corsair 620hx

vidcard i already have 9600gt

but the mobo .. i am sooooo in a dillemma...
I am really considering the DFI DK P35 but do not know if I should go with it..I already own a DFI mobo and I like it (socket 939)..
How does this DFI DK P35 T2RS competer against the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L in terms of stability and overclockability?

Please advice me on the mobo... you will be greatly appreciated. What do you think about it ? is it good enough for the E3110 ?
all I am looking for is a stable 3.6 - 4.0 Ghz OC

Thanks !!

The limiting factor in most cases when overclocking a Penryn with a fixed multiplier (i.e. not an extreme edition) will be how high you can take the FSB of your motherboard. I know DFI makes some pretty good motherboards for overclocking, but regardless of how good the brand is, I'm pretty sure most P35 based motherboards will take a poop before your Penryn does.

I would seriously consider an e8500 because with the higher multiplier you could probably achieve a higher CPU clock with a cheaper motherboard.

This is off-topic in relation to your question but I would just like to throw that out there. I don't know what the best P35 motherboard is. I would just find whatever socket 775 motherboard gives you the best FSB per dollar, and compare that against an e8500 + cheaper motherboard.

edit: if you will be satisfied with a 3.6GHz clock speed I think pretty much any brand name p35 will do you just fine. However, if you decide to save $50 on the motherboard and spend an extra $100 on the processor, I think you could break 4.0GHz much more easily with an e8500 paired with a midrange board.

the dfi DK is a much better board than the gigabyte but if ur going to be getting a quad latter then i would suggest that u get the UT, if u stay duel it will be a great clocker

for the psu though i like the 750tx better than the 620hx, the cwt made 750 runs alot cooler than the 620 with seasonc parts, and the 750 has really nice cables that tuck over or under the psu out of the way
