G15 LED modding

i was thinking about buying a Logitech G15 V2 and changing the leds from orange to green. i was wondering if anyone has done this before and if so how many leds would you need? im guessing around 15 3mm leds but im not exactly sure. and is that all the hardware you would need to buy to mod it?

How are the G15's backlit anyways. I cannot imagine they have a diode in every single key. But maybe.

i've never opened my G15 up, so i have no idea. doesn't really sound like a fun mod, but post pics if you make it work.

yeah, that blue G15 looks awesome. i take back what i said about the mod being a pain. it still seems like a lot of work though.

ive opened mine up its really easy

all it is is an acrylic sheet under the keys that is illuminated by leds around the border, all you have to do is solder on new leds with a resistor and assemble the keyboard. you can ask some specific questions, ill answer them best i can, and ill try to gather some resources for you.

thanks guys but i have already seen those links. i was wondering if there was a list of supplies i need. i see the german website has some but they are all in german. i was wanting to mod my g15 green and didn't know exactly what supplies i would need. i think i need 100 ohms transistors and i don't know how many and then the leds are what im not exactly sure on. because i don't think i can use the same led for all parts of the keyboard.

nice i see i may not have to get resistors. anyone know a good place to get resistors and the leds i would need?

edit: im using green leds and im not exactly sure what the ohms of the current g15 resistors are but they have 151 written on them so im guessing that might be it. found 2 places to get the stuff from http://www.opamp-electronics.com/catalog/ they got the regular leds and resistors. http://www.unique-leds.com/index.php they got the 0603 and 0805 leds. if the german website is correct then that is all i will need for modding the g15. thanks for the help guys.
