View Full Version : Using both UV and colored cathodes?

I'm new to case modding. I want to illuminate my case both red and uv for watercooling UV additive. If I install both cathode tubes will the red be distorted or altered by the UV cathode?

I had invisioned having blood red UV additive with red lighting, but have found that there is no blood red UV additive. Only red UV that apparently in reality looks more pink than red. With that in mind I'm thinking of getting black UV additive, which will react purple-ish from the UV light. I was going to get red LED case fans, but am thinking of getting red cathode instead. Will the UV and red cathodes conflict with each other?

They should not get into a conflict, but cause the UV light is kinda purple, you might get some kind od a "purple fog" where the UV cathode is placed, although, it's just a little effect of it, nothing major.
So everything is alright.

Hey, you would need like 4 uv's to match 1 red, cause it's light is a lot weaker. Do not mix the lights, it wont work well

so the red will diminish the effectiveness of the UV? I assume that having LED fans in the case will have a similar effect?

LED fans don't fill the case with light like a cathode tube will. They are not strong enough to interfear with the UV.
