A survey of 2,200 US corporate computer users was conducted in February to show how satisfied they were with their OS.
-53% of those users were satisfied using Leopard
-40% of those users were satisfied using XP
-8% of those users were satisfied using Vista

However, of those planning on buying an OS in the 2nd quater:
-53% will buy XP
-20% will buy Vista
-8% will buy Leopard

hahaha, guess that goes to show that marketing and name is everything these days

Eitherway, I would asume the big reason for more corporate users to buy xp and vista is because xp and vista support more of the software they need (or at least they think the microsoft OSes do)

Depends on what you're doing really...

most cooperate people will never use osx the only people who use it are old grafic designers, the rest would use windows or a better version of linux. osx is on a locked platform and is full of security holes that arnt present on real biz grade linux/unix distros.

osx is made to be shinny and for home use, but its full of problems for securing things since somehow anything with an i in it uses java and or is supper exploitable

OSX is an utter joke in the corporate environment. Its fine for home usage, but it also stops there.

Networking with OS X is awful...

If you work in say a graphic design studio, OS X may have its place there or maybe in a music studio, but not many other businesses can rely on it...

Using OSX in a music studio? Isn't that like promoting music piracy, before the songs are even released? :p:
I mean, anyone can get it if it wants to.....

yepp, that's what I think too. there are a few programs that companies use which are available for all systems, but why bother if ALL of them run on Windows?

+1. but it's a shame. if they only need the pc for office OS-X might do well though. thanks to Exposé office-work with OS-X is sheer fun.
biggest problem might be the administration of OS-X and limiting the access.

but if we take a look at the policy of Apple we can notice that they don't even target companies. other big brands like Dell offer special deals for companies while Apple doesn't. it's even more surprisingly that some firms buy apple-computers nevertheless. a friend of mine works as a programmer and sometimes he may use a Mac Pro. although most of their computers are running XP or Linux. they are programming in Java and therefore they test their programms on each platform.

OSX only runs on Mac's which is why corparete users do not go for it. Windows runs on anything it gives them freedom to choose the spec's they need.

OSX does work on some non-macs but it involves a lot more work than it would ever be worth.

Also another issue. When a Mac brakes you lose it for some 1-2 weeks or more. And need to do alot of things to get it repaired.

When a Dell brakes, you call Dell and they come the same or next day and fixes it onsite.

Not wanting to be stereotypical here... but all the Mac users I know seem to be obnoxiously smug about the fact they think they own the better system. I have used a mac and really hated it.

Imagine two people:

Person1, Uses all operating systems and none are perfect. Decides to go with XP as it is "least bad", but says they are not satisfied with it.

Person2, Uses a mac and only a mac. Thinks windows must be worse. Says they are satisfied with OSX.

This would give the above results. More people saying they are satisfied with mac, but most people buying windows.

Then again, I'm talking from experiance with people. I would imagine (hope) that corporations are more rational in thier descisions.

Can you imagine corporate types using a 1 button "mighty mouse". Not only that they'd all be wondering where their Start button and favourite blue "screensaver" is.

Mac's don't have anywhere near the reliability or customer service that companies expect. Not to mention how many techies would get fired as they now have no work to do.

I don't understand what all this OSX bashing is about. I've been using a "special" versions of Leopard for the past week on my regular hardware and everything pretty much works out of the box...
It's different and interesting to see how Apple thinks an OS should be. The couple of games I usually play also work with it juste fine (ok maybe a little slower).

So stop focusing on the Apple and Mac users image and try it out^^

Yes you can hack the OSX to run on your PC, but thats the problem. You have to hack it to work and then you are in world of trouble support wise.

Well its not that mighty mine has 7 buttons.

Person2, Uses a mac and only a mac. Thinks windows must be worse. Says they are satisfied with OSX.

Person3, Uses a mac and a PC. Thinks OS-X is superior for general use like Internet or Office but loves his PC for its modularity and gaming performance. Will keep on using both and is happy doing so.

The friend I was talking about was surprised how good OS-X actually was. But he's not such a techy as I am that he needs >=2 computers  His WoW (the one and only game he plays :shakes: ) would run on OS-X as well though...

1000000000000000% TRUE

i have NEVER met a MAC user who didnt think their pieces of sh|t mac's weren't the best freakin thing since the Col.'s fried chicken.

mac's are crap, always have been, always will be and if it wasnt for the ipod and bill gates giving Apple millions of dollars, MAC's would have died years upon years ago.

and if you doubt gates gives money to apple you better do some research. gates has bailed out Mac so many times it aint even funny.

mac's suck balls, and can just keep on suckin cuz evn my pissy little amd 3500 system can do more than a mac can.
