I just got permission to post pix of these two prototypes (they were brought to PDXLAN 11 . . .made to house Skulltrail). I do not know when they will be available on the DD store. The pictured units have a Black Ice GTX 480 in the front however DD might offer Thermochill or Feser rad hole spacing.

Now I know some of you will post about how EK cases are supreme over DD because they use transpaisteel or tranlsudent alloy for their cases . . .

I believe DD will offer three sizes of WaterBox towers in addition to their other line of fine acrylic cases.

I think that equates to a resounding "meh" from me.

I have a plexi case. They look nice in pictures, but they are a PITA to keep clean. They tend to be a bit flimsy. And try as best as you want no matter how you route the cable, it just doesnt look as good as a solid case.

They are the ONLY ones I know of who use 3/8" acrylic bud. You really would be suprised if you could just touch one . . .with gloved hands ;)

And I am with you . . .I was surprised which I why I used two 240s in addition to a 480 . . .but their loop keeps their stuff cool.

I've always been 50/50 about acrylic cases.
On one hand, they look cool and different, and leave a lot of room of modding.
On the other hand, they are painstakingly tough to keep clean, and as they hide nothing, provide an even tougher cable management scenario.

But I guess, not everybody value a clean interior as highly as we at XS do. I mean, why else would typical acrylic tower cases be as popular as they are?

I like to settle for something in between, a half metal, half acrylic case.
The bottom part would be metal, and house the powersupply, pump, I/O Drives, and radiator.
The top part would be acrylic, and of course, house the motherboard with hardware, harddrives lying flat on the floor, and serve as a showroom for the hardware, with holes around the edge for rounding wires between the two cabins.

Hey Darthbeaver,

Love the case, this is actually what i look for ,if there's no flaw in design, possible to get one in ATX MB/ThermoChill setting from DD.

Aroound how $ they charge for that??

Thanks
