Hello, I have a single 74GB (8mb cache, older model) Raptor and I would like to get one more to place them in Raid-0, but ill would benefit a good $30-40 bucks if I buy two more which means ill end up with 3 of them and I have the perfect spot for them too! So my question is... is it a good idea and is it even possible to raid-0 3 raptors? Never seen it done before just 2 & 4 of them? And also is it worth going raid-0 on those raptors or should I save my money and just get like 2 (16mb cache) ones? And is the 8/16mb cache a big difference also? Thanks!

as far as i know, 3 drive raid, is possible if my info is correct. i too, have the 74gb 8mb raptors, i have currently 2 of them and have had them sense 2004 and they have never let me down running in Raid-0. running drives in raid-0 to me, seems to improve boot time and operating system performance by a big margin. when i first got them i was running a p4 3.2ghz ht cpu and a abit ic7-g max 2 mobo with 2gbs of cosair value ram and 120gb wd 7200rpm hd ide, just by me switching to sata from ide, was one improvement and going to Raid-0 on that system made boot into windows all the way down to like 2mins tops from a 5min boot time with the ide drive.
so hope that helps you out alittle bit in some token of little bit of raid-0 info background.
