DFI S939 mobo with A64 cpu.

System was used for about 3 years, with a Thermalright XP-120.

I lifted the handle and normally the cpu then almost "falls" out of the socket but this one didn't move at all.

Now I can't get him out of the socket, I can hardly get a cutter knife (let alone a screwdriver) between the socket and the cpu to try to lift it, it's likes he's glued to it :(

Any tips or ideas???

Are you sure that no thermal compound has gotten between the cpu and the socket as the time passed by?

My suggestion is to turn the pc on (with HSF on) and let it run orthos for 10mins orso, then turn it off and try to take the cpu out when the socket is still warm.

If that fails, i dont know.

Or for a more efficient solution, use a hairdryer / heat-gun.

When you say it's "stuck", does the lever feel like it's sticking, or is the lever fully extended but with the CPU still in the socket?

EDIT: fixed!

It was the lever, apperently I didn't pull it far enough :s
Do I feel like a noob right now...
