Vopochill XE II questions

Just bought a Vapochi;; XE II from a friend for $300. Got a couple of questions about it. First my specs.
Im In the USA ILLINOIS
Q6600 B3- goes to -40 to -49
Gigabyte EX38-ds4
Mushkin ddr2-1066 (dh9) 5-5-4-12@1066 up to 1200
4 36 gig raptor in intel raid 0
2-sapphire 2900xt crossfire (512)
Antec 850w p/s

First off this unit has a bad controller board, when you switch the unit on it goes to about -10 and then says press the motherboard switch. Well I modded a switch to the case where I can switch on the motherboard manually. Ive looked around some and dont really know much about the controller to know what to look for. It runs great the way I have it but Im concerned it might break something. Anyone know if what im doing will hurt the unit and where can I find a controller? Another question I have is about the motherboard itself. When I make any major changes in bios it shuts down and reboots right back up. This cant be good on hard drives and probably not good on the unit either. My p35 board does this also so its a intel chipset probablem i suppose. Any fixes for this? Any help would be appreciated. That -10c switch mobo on is the power on stage. You chnage that once in window with the softwear as the CC is linked to the mobo via a cable, USB i think.

The new bords, P35 onwards all do a reboot after changing settings in BIOS. It clears the catch, re-loads it blah blah. I've probs had 3000 re-boots with I-ram and HD's when benching last month, no issues

Running the Vapochill like that shouldn't cause any problems, it is just you turning on the system rather than the CC board doing so. If the CC board has power then the heaters should still work, and the USB connection should allow you to customise the settings as you like.
If you want a replacement CC board then go to http://support.asetek.com and fill out a trouble ticket and they should be able to sort you out with one.

ok guys another new to this vapo queston. Whats a safe vcore on the cpu. Mines a B3 Q6600 @ 1.75 it reads 1.712 on cpuz @ 9x470 fsb.-26c. Have I got it too high now or can I move it more? ALLEN

Where are you reading that -26C? 1.712vcore is quite a bit of load. Are you able to load all four cores without temps crashing?
I normally would not exceed 1.65vcore for daily usage.

1.712v would be what I'd expect of a mediocre B3 quad at 4230MHz. Must have a modified unit or must not load the cores as you are talking some serious heat dump. Dropping down to 1.65v will most likely get you ~4GHz with a B3, those chips just did not scale well in my experience. If you aren't worried about the life of your chip then you could leave it at 1.75v but you're guaranteed to knock off a a good portion of it's lifetime. Grab SpeedFan if you haven't already, I've found it to be a decently reliable application that tends to get die temperatures within a ballpark figure, good for casual monitoring of temps/volts.

The control panel says -26 still and if I reboot and go into bios it says current cpu temp -23. Is any right? And thats my vcore @ 1.7 alot of vdroop. I dont leave it overclocked, just to benchmark maybe 45 min to hour at a time. ALLEN
