View Full Version : Looking for Feedback on my first loop

Hi All,

Been lurking around here for a few weeks reading up on everything. I'm getting ready to put my loop together but I wanted to get some feedback on my decisions, and also ask for a little help with the actual setup.

Here's what I'm looking to cool in one loop.

Q6600
2x eVGA 8800 GT
eVGA 780i NB, SB

Here's what I've picked out for the system.

DTek Fuzion Stock
2x MCW-60
EK-NB 780i Northbridge Water Block
EK-NB 680i NB waterblock for my SB
Laing DDC-3.2 with XSPC top (not reservoir top)
MCR-320
XSPC dual bay reservoir

So my first question for feedback would be, is this okay? I'm not looking to OC my cpu to 4ghz or anything, I just want a quiet and stable system.

Now, I've been playing around with Martins spreadsheet, and I saw that with one pump I get about 1.5ish gpm, but with two pumps I get well over 2 gpm. My second question is, is the second pump worth it? If so, how should I set up the system? Here is what I was thinking:

Res -> Pump 1 -> Pump 2 -> Rad -> CPU -> GPU 1 -> GPU 2 -> NB -> SB -> Res again

Should I screw the second pump and run a second loop instead? I really want to contain this all in one case. I have a large enough tower that I can currently run all of this in one place with good airflow, but I could possibly isolate one GPU and the NB/SB into a new loop with a smaller rad I think and get away with it.

What do you think?
