Hmm, if I open a package and what I ordered is sticky, the first thing I do is wash it off (or attempt to). For some strange reason I don't run my hands over the rest of it to check if all of it is sticky.
Just wondering, do the packaging peanuts smell like soda? :D

now...if a DNA test can prove that the genetic material found on the tubings are diploid and not haploid... :D
I just got 23feet of the 3/8'' stuff and thats stickery than the last lass i spent all night with!!! So just run the hot tap so it's nice and hot then run it over the hose?
I guess it's the molding realse stuff that makes it sticky

You're washing them with just water or with soap ? it's some sort of sticky grease that mine have maybe for protection i don't really know

i got a some R1000 last week that was sticky like that. i split a section open and found that the inside was not sticky. the last time i ordered 3606 it wasn't sticky, but i should be getting about 10 ft today in the mail. i hope its not sticky.
I'm gonna put it in the dishwasher with my mobo i think. Both are sticky

mines from jab-tech came like that too, I jus took a paper towel dipped in alcohol and ran it through. done in seconds..

isopropyl alcohol does not damage them ?

To be serious, I believe the sticky coating is the plasticizer seeping out of the tubing. The tubing likely has seen some shelf time, and possibly has been exposed to heat during storage.

honestly I don't know but it worked and they are fine... It even gave them a smoother feeling. I just put some alcohol on the paper towel and wiped them down..

Well i ordered from sidewinder computers...
I sealed both ends and washed with warm water and some special soap from motul, it worked fine except that some drops enter inside so i have to use the air compressor...I should have followed Aldy402 method i tried on a pice of cutted tube and isopopyl gaves the tube a better feel.

Tygons are some of the most chemically resistant tubings around, used for peristaltic pumps in labs to run all kinds of nasty things...alcohol, no sweat

Erm...why not just flush the insides with distilled water after running soapy water through?
You've taken great pains to keep the inside dry but whats the logic behind that?
The tubings are not exactly sterile inside anyway and I would advice you to flush it

What is the deal with not wanting water to get inside the tubing for your WATER cooler rig when you clean it? And if Tygon tubing would be harmed by just denatured alcohol then I seriously don't think it would be laboratory grade stuff. A lot harsher fluildes go through that tubing in labs. :)
And I would use denatured alcohol to clean it. It won't leave an oily redidue like isopropyl alcohol will.
