what happened to the blow hole??

.. a few years ago, alot of cases had a blowhole to let hot air exhaust out from the top. i had 2 case from builds in 1998 and 2002.

I just built a new system and could not find any cases (except from apexia) with top exhaust fans.

jsut kidna dissapointed since i was use to it. anyone feel the same way?

i ended up with a raidmax smiloden case with 2x 120mm fans and 4x 80mm fans.

I have the Antec P180B and it has a blow hole, I think the 900 does also. I have NZXT that came with a blow hole also....

You didn't look hard enough, the Antec P180, P182, P190 and 900 all have top mounted fans and the Coolermaster Stacker 830 and 832 have an option to install fan there as well the Coolermaster Cosmos cases and the CM690 and that's just off the top of my head.

Besides If you get a case you really like and you want a blow hole, why not just make one. Thats what I did.

i just orded a P180 mini that has a 200mm blow hole :D

i guess its a high end feature now. i was tryign to spend under 80 bucks, and not many of those came with a blow hole and looked half decent.

how did you make one? used a dremel? i was thinking about that, but the steel feels kinda sturdy.

You can get one of these (http://www.directron.com/t019438in.html) and then finish it off with a dremel...

wow 200 mm blow hole?? isnt that fan blocking your drive bays and psu????

Coolermaster CM690 is right around $80, but you cna usually find a place selling it with a rebate bringing it down to $50.

Cases with those 200mm fans usually have the PSU at the bottom and the top fan where the PSU would be. Look at the Antec 900.

many of the lian-li cases also have them...

my PC-7 PLUS was available for just over 80 and had a top 80mm exhaust (I replaced it with a dual 120mm radiator grill)
