View Full Version : 9600Gt running hot

I've just bought 9600gt and installed Accelero S1 on it. I used Collaboratory Liquid Pro and I've mounted Silverstone FN121 on it.
The temps are 48/65 - idle/load.
As far as I know they should be lower.
Any suggestions?

Maybe you have put to much thermal paste on the Gpu and now the sensor doesn't read the temperature corectly...what were your temps before u installed the Accelero?

Well I don't really know cuz I installed Accelero even before testing the GPU with its stock cooler :P but People report a lot lower temps than mines

You should of tested before so that you could make a comparison of the temps before and after...this problem may also be caused by your psu not giving enough juice...what psu are u using?

the card can peak towards 90 Watts

The psu is quite alright...i don't know what else to say :confused:
It may be possible that your card may have a defect...i just dunno what to say because i don't know what the temps were before the Accelero was installed so we don't know what temps improvements were made!!!
Anyway your temps aren't so bad so u don't have to worry because the card is now that hot :)
If somebody else has an opinion please share! :shrug:

Solved the problem... There were just too much thermal compound... Now temps are 34/39 - Idle/Stress :P

mine temps with stock cooler 750/1925/2000 are 48/60

The temps posted above were on 650/1625/1800. Now I've overclocked it a little bit and it's 35/43 on 780/1950/1800 -gpu/spu/mem

What are the ambient temps? I bet its cold at this moment on Poland!

Indeed. It's like -5 C outside but fortunately I've got the central heating :D
I'm not sure but ambient is between 20 and 22 degrees

I'm not sure becouse I didn't test the gpu with stock cooler, but according to illidan, temps with stock cooler are 48/60, so compared to my 35/43 on accelero, the difference is like 17 degrees
