View Full Version : What did your 9700 pro max out at?

Just curious what everyone elses 9700 pro maxed out at?

I've started overclocking mine, just the GPU mainly right now. I don't have heatsinks on my ram yet, but they are ordered and on their way here. So I can't get anything more then 330(DDR660) of them without artifacting/throttling. The ram chips say Samsung on them...not sure if those are the good ones...

However, right now, until my water cooling setup gets here, I have a corb on my GPU. Haven't taken the shim off yet, but I will when I put my swiftec waterblock on there.

So far, gpu is at 400mhz, runs fine, no artifacts or anything. I haven't done any voltage mods yet, way too scared I'll ruin it.

So how far have you taken your 9700 pro?

Well so far I've gotten 400/345 on my 9700np I got off of ebay for under $200. 2.8ns samsung bgas and stock cooler. I do have my 12" fan hooked up right now, though. I think either the RAM or the core have a few more mhz left.

My core didnt gain a single mhz with the Iceberg4 on it. I only got 5mhz with the tweakmonsters.

Right now its rock solid at 375/660. No v-mods or anything.

359/324 with stock cooling

371/334 with 1.7v on gpu and 3.15v on mem

411/334 with 1.7v on gpu and 3.15v on mem with an AMD heatsink on the gpu

465/371 with 1.8v on gpu and 3.15v on mem with a Swiftech MCW50-T 80 watt peltier and ~5C water

more vmods to come and more tweaking, as that last set of clocks wasn't even maxed yet imo...

Well... my iceburg 4 is now gone and i've added a CoolJag 1U CPU cooler with a delta fan. My card now does 385 with stock voltage.

I think i need to v-mod it soon. :)

Same here, I finally got off my lazy butt and watercooled my 9700p, chilled water of course.

398 gpu and 716 ddr artifact free, and no v-mods...at least not until they release a Radeon 9900 or equivalent.

463/378 - vgpu @ 1.80 and cooled with Swifty MCW50-T and water to about +10dc I was able to get my 20K 3dmark score :)

The card actually ran at 475 on the core in testing but was not stable for a full benchmarking run :)

Well, since this thread kinda got bumped up, I'll throw my update into it.....

After doing more testing and stuff, I had to back my gpu down to 393, and it is on water (MCW50), but I haven't taken the shim off, so that might be part of it. Although the back of the card is not warm either under the cpu, so it may need more juice.

My ram on the other hand, has been kicking tail. 360 is what she is running at, and hasn't complained a bit. No volt mods on this beast.

Everything stock, just replaced the TIM with ceramique and lapped the heatsink.
380/330
Can go higher with the core but artifacts start to appear and even at 380 after several hours of Delta Force some start to arise. With the mem can“t go any higher. As soon as I raise the mem my desktop becomes dizzy.

Well, its been a while. I had a Hercules card, and installed a Zalman Zm80a-Hp and mounted 2 92mm fans, and carried the hole thing outside. (A cold April day) It maxed out at 439mhz on the core. Not too bad considering it was air cooled.
