hi everyone.

i'm currently looking for some small floated oilseps like those henry ones chilly supplied a few years ago before he hit the wall.

looking for something that has a diameter less then 3" (75mm) and less then 10" height (300mm) and ofcourse floated ones..

does anyone have anything laying around or know where to get for resonable price? lives in EU but US deals is no problems as long as they ship to sweden/EU.

regards
Tim

Ah the henrys, I dunno wish I had some too, they seem decent though a bit underrated (if I remember correctly only rated for 1/2-3/4 ton).

yea i've seen those but are you sure they are floated, doesn't looks so the drawing on the picture and the lack of info and datasheets makes me doubt it..

but if you know a 100% sure answer or a source to get to now about that i'm more then happy to hear :)

Why can't you continue using the Henry/AC&R separators? They are a UK company, should be available from your refrig.supply house?

I think you must mean they are too big for your applications NOL?

Nah some of those Euro guys are starting to use insanely huge compressors, think at some point those might be too small when your using a gas like ethylene.

They dont have a float, but they are cheap...

The AC&R are nice, but a little expensive.

huh?, they are made in increments of capacity in both conventional (impingement) and helical.
The smallest helical is 2.6 kW R507 @-40C
The biggest helical is 352 kW R507 @-40C!

Surely something in that range will suit those awesome Europeans.

It's like you're telling me that the board you usually get from Home Depot is too small for what you need. I'm baffled, they make bigger boards dude. As an end to my rant, do you really think PC cooling is the most powerful refrigeration application on the planet?

No I don't think that at all. Is it really that much capacity? I thought it wasn't that big! Wow thanks for the info.

This is the one I have for my 1150 cascade.

Even smaller I beleive. Though might be the fact I don't know exactly what cigarettes are like size wise. But similar.

Noob, even 350Kw is kinda tiny compared to some of the apps out there ;)

The Henry S-5180 is the smallest helical by henry, i have it in my cascade and i believe its the model reggie used. They also supply them at the local hvac shops here.(but that doesnt help u any..:( )

Going off the 2.6kW R507a rating of the S5180 @ -40C and assuming it to be limited by discharge gas velocity i think it would convert to a capacity of ~1.65kW with ethylene @ -100C

But i think that doesn't mean anything because the effectiveness of the oil separator is a lot more important for us than it is for R507a at -40C because the high 99%'s aren't good enough at those temperatures.

I have an S-5180 helical oil separator and personally i would choose the Castel 5540 coalescent over it any day.

The volume of gas stored in the S-5180 is low compared to the majority of coalescent oil separators, that might be a blessing or a curse depending on what you want to do.

Got a price on those Sneil?
I'm loving the Temprite 900 right now.

blank god:
something like that, in that size range.

soddemFX:
yea i totally agreee but it's going to be in a rather small cascade where the height is the limitig part, thats why i looking for something like that i got the 5540 for my rotary cascade but now it's going to be a danfoss sc serie compressor cascade and i do like to use new parts instead of use second hand ones (thought it's nothing wrong with the one i got).

anyone who knows where to get those fhenrys blank god shows us?

otherwise a non-floated with a seperate float could be used.. but damn that's so much extra work..

The smallest oilsep with float valve which I know is the OUB1 of Danfoss. Very expensive. Otherwise I would use a Temprite 340. Non-floated, but cheap.

I could get you one tim if you're really desperate for one. The s5180s are $220CAD, not cheap.:( the 81 in Blank God's pic is a buck more, it's a little taller but larger capacity. Here's the catalog of the local store here in town. Note the actual price is HALF the list price it shows.

edit - please keep refference to sales in PM :) thanks

for those prices i do pass, it will be cheaper for me to buy the danfoss oub1 then which still is rater expensive compare to the castell ones (which i used in my rotary cascade) for 125-130cad.

and ofcourse this wasn't ment as a buy/sell thread, then i would have post such one.. but okay, it seems like noone have those for resonable prices.. i think we forget this and use well oversized oilseps in the future as well :)
