I finally got my account validated on here after waiting for a couple weeks and now I can post, yes! I've been on tech-forums for about a year now... ~800 posts... anyways

I came over here because this community has a whole lot of info about the more extreme side of tech things... world record oc's, phase cooling etc.

Which brings me to my question... I would really like to invest in a nice phase cooling system and I realize that I can't access the B/S/T forum yet and so won't be buying a system until I can (THIS IS NOT A B/S/T THREAD), meanwhile I'd like to learn all the information I can about the various types of Vapor Phase Change cooling and how much each type or performance tier can cost...

I've been ghosting on here for a week or so and looking at some of the completed systems and WIP's and am really interested in delving into some phase cooling.

If theres a thread that contains all the info I need, you can post/pm and I'll get a mod to close/delete the thread.

honestly just about all the builders here put in excellent quality, to name a few names, piotres, n00b of 1337, kayl, runmc, there's a bunch of them, find one who lives near you, find out what they offer, and then we can tell you whether or not it's worth the money (much easier than trying to completely spell out what makes a good phase change).

Check out the stickies to see what parts the other people that build top performing systems use, and also (the actual section) to see how much other people have spent on their units, that should give you a good idea on what to look for.

http://www.refrigerationbasics.com/1024x768/rb1.htm < Well start there, and then read some of the more detailed build threads and this should garner you with a fair understanding of how it is don, and why some things are don.

Don't get you hopes up there isn't a ton of stuff in the for sale section. But there are great deals that pop up once in a while. Just keep post'n. Go over to the chat section there is some interesting threads than need input!

lol ok thanks everyone

I'll need to save up for the phase cooling anyways... expensive compared to liquid 0_0

You can just get a cheap window A/C and mod it into a chiller without having to modify the refrigerant plumbing. Later, you can mod it into a DD, and later into a cascade.

any guides or worklogs I can see? sounds kinda difficult after buying the A/C...

Check the chilled water section. What you will end up doing is getting a cooler and cutting an piece of it out to be able to get the refrigerant lines in there while still connnected to the evaporator.

that actually looks pretty sweet, I've been looking at some of those finished chillers, great temps and it doesn't seem like you have to do too much technical stuff
