Well been a overclocker since the days of 486, and pentium 1 , and been a vapochill LS owner for several years.
However even with all this experience overclocking has seemed to have become more difficult;
Specs:
Q6600 2.4ghz
Vapochill LS modded cooling coil and compressor, holds -68c - -50c on the evaporator display.
However the rang from which I can post to a stable boost is massive. The old days if you had a post frequency you knock it back a few mhz and it was stable, however now I can post at 4.5ghz yet its not stable running vista or Seti.
Yet wind it all the way back to around 3.0ghz Im fine.
It most likely due to the extra factors of the chipset voltages and voltages for another dozen things as well such as HT, and FSB voltages. These just used to never exist!
Advice people?
