Been doing a lot of reading.. I finally decided to wait for a q9450 instead of a q6600 I want to overclock to 3.2ghz maybe a little more, maybe.. I'm worried about quietness and temps. What would be the ideal hs/fan combo? I was planning on getting a TRUE with a scythe kama pwm fan (120mm). But now I'm confused after reading around, I understand that the TRUE is worth getting only if you lap and do big oc's 3.6ghz+?

Is there a better/cheaper quiet setup I can use to cool a 3.2ghz q9450? I've been thinking about a scythe ninja rev.b or xigmatek 1283? I'm really lost now as you can see

Xigmatek is a splendid cooler that I can recommend. Much better than the ninja and much cheaper than the True. Its real quiet too.

Xigma is the next inline based on reviews.

If you're only going to 3.2 or slightly higher, you'll get by with any of the top coolers. The difference between the top coolers isn't as much as you would think. The best of the best will probably only get you 100-200mhz higher than the best. Haha, broken English, but I'm sure it makes sense. :)

The new Xigma does look sweet, especially for the price.

What about the Xigmatek HDT-D1264? Pretty much a S1283 bent 90-degrees. No reviews yet :(

The other difference is an extra heatpipe (6MM x 4) while the S1283 has 3 heatpipes (8MM x 3).

I'd go with Scythe Zipang.

I'd go with Scythe Zipang.

Again, I would like to know in what you base your preference... In the other thread people recommended other coolers to you but you came up with Zipang. I dont remind seeing it perform so well in tests, maybe I missed some reviews ? Dont get me wrong, i just want to know the logical reasoning behind you opinion. Thanks.

MY current setup:

TRUE + (2)YateLoon 120X20mm Low speed (in push bull) + one pair of Fan clips
running @ 870 RBM

Cooling wise it compares to a single 120X25mm running @ 1300
BUT the noise is MUCH lower!

You can get the yateloons and the clips from jabtech
The 2 fans and the clips could cost less then a single scythe s-flex fan!!

Just my $.02:)
