Here is a interesting decision
I have a BGF 8800GTX OC2
Been looking at the new 9800GS
Which is better upgrade
1) Buy 2nd BFG8800GTX (495cad)
or
2) Sell 8800GTX and get 9800GS? (587cad)
Which would be faster?
(MB = Asus 680i/3.2g C2D)
Opinions!

I honestly don't see any reason for you to get rid of the 8800gtx. The gain going to a 9800GS would be minimal at best. I suggest you keep your card and if you want more performance grab another 8800gtx and put them in SLI mode. Also, I think that once the 9 series have more availibility you should see a small price drop on the 8800gtx as well.

As far as I know there is no 9800 GS, there are 9800 GX2, 9800 GTS and 9800 GTX.
And getting a second 8800 GTX would be better, the 9800 GX2 is just 2 tweaked 8800 GTs stuck together. And the 9800 GTS and GTX are just die-shrunk versions of the 8800 GTX and Ultra

Neither?
Unless you really must upgrade... just wait!
If you must do one or the other, I'd just sli the gtxs and be happy with what you got for a few months. Anyone with an 8800series should just let the 9800s go by.
I'm assuming the 9800gs is the 9800gts?

9800gx2 would be more powerful than a single gtx easily, but its too much IMO

but he's trying to decide between one gx2 or two 8800gtx's. I still say you're better off with two gtx's. If you need that much video processing power, the extra memory bandwidth will be very beneficial also.

2 8800 GTXs are better than 1 9800 GX2
Now 2 9800 GX2s on the other hand...
