Is a R404a'd Mark2 Prommy Capable of getting to -70 ?
without a capillar tube change? seems too good to be true
though I suspect the result I've seen on another forum
is idle temp not loaded.

wondering what you expects think?

You might need to register its a new forum here's the thread...
http://www.cpucity.co.uk/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=17

Scroll down the page a fraction you'll see a pic of a M2 prommy
display sitting on -70

i think the prommy mk 2 temp senser is also VERY generous. sounds like it is off by about 10c from what i have seen. -70c is out of the reach of 99% of all single stage systems if not all of them.

The sensor must be WAAAAYYYYY off...

Have a mach 1 that I been playing with and the sensor is 10c off.

My Mach II can hit -70 no load (at all... mid-air dangly), Only have photos at -68 tho. And that's an unmodded 134a MkII...

Once load is applied however it's back to the more normal figures that ppl everywhere else are getting... thinkin perhaps some units are going out slightly undercharged as well as having sensor miscalibrations...

it has to be a sensor miscalibration

Just checked- archieving -70C on R134A is almost impossible, you would have to have a perfect vacuum at least, @ -0.8bar/24Hg theres ~ -50C

I can make my MK-1 READ -70 just change one resistor, but it will only change the displayed temp.

Finding out the true evap temp is very hard, the only way to know will be to buy a propper thermomiter like bowman has.

Fluke rules, but they are pricey.

I borrow mine from work (fluke) that is, even gets calibrated every 6months. Only two inputs though so I usually borrow some more.

One of the benefits of working for a money wasting multinational.

well i am trying to catch up on the missed threads....

ok the anser is no...there is no possable way it will see -60c or -70c with the compressor used period.

i have tested a couple and as i have posted(which read Bowmans Mod shop once in a while, sounds like the sunday paper artical)

but the 2 i tested are the excate same temp plus or minus 1c.there is no temp improvement on a mach II to speak of.
but there is lots of improvements in design and softwear and displays.

it is the calibration of the softwear i beleve.i will check the next one and measure the reading from the cooling head myself and find out if the sensor is off,or just a softwear sales helper...:D
