COD4 crashing in PB servers.

Anyone have problems with COD4 freezing in multiplayer? The general internet talk I'm reading is, the problem is generally in punkbuster servers only. Power button reset only solution.

Secondly I've updated my pb, and I've turned off Everything including Explorer, and tried. Only to freeze.

One thing I keep seeing and its confirmed by my friends near identical system is it seems to have something to due with ATI graphics, both systems are crossfire 3870's. What seems to back up the theory of PB problems is, my system will freeze then moments later my friends will. We're on the same network btw playing in the same server. Our friend with a single 88gt doesn't freeze when we do. All on the same server/network.

Our systems are super stable, I could play single player with maxed settings all day, multiple times through and I’d never freeze. Likewise with my friends system. Ati drivers are 8.2..

Anyone got a solution other then play in non PB servers?

Never had the freezing problems until i changed to catalyst 8.3, now i do have them both in XP and Vista. Its :mad: Did you have any problems with the older drivers? I doubt its PB.

did you try disabling Crossfire? PB will do some weird :banana::banana::banana::banana: if it doesn't like your graphic card setup. Also, make sure that you have Catalyst AI disabled.

haven't tried with crossfire disabled. If you disable AI completely crossfire won't work am I right? I believe its in standard. I'm going to try a few more settings this friday with my friend at our weekly lan. I'm on dialup or I'd have this solved in a day.

and yes its crashed with 7.11, 8.1, and 8.2 and Since 8.3 Recieved so many terrible reviews I didn't even try it. honestly don't think its a driver issue, the single player side would crash too if the drivers caused it.

My notion that it was PB is a general conclusion i've drawn from reading about this issue in various forums.

crossfire seems to be the problem. had everything turned off (all programs) and disabled crossfire and it played fine no freezes, before i disabled cfire it crashed twice that night with all programs turned off.
