I have a ds3l and I am trying to find the most accurate temperature monitoring software. I am getting 2 sets of identical results from the 4 programs I have tried. I get 32c at idle with TAT. I get 47c at idle with PC Wizard. SpeedFan reports 32c and CPUID Hardware Monitor reports 47c. Do different programs work better with different manufacturers/chipsets? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

RealTemp, read here: RealTemp (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=179044&highlight=realtemp) . Glad I found this thread here cause my new bios isn't reading the cpu temps properly.

+1 for Real Temp

Everest is also a great program, even better if you have a G15 keyboard. you can setup temps/voltage/usage on the LCD.

I say go with more than one to be sure. I use speedfan and coretemp most of the time.

Thanks guys! I will be trying all of those out. I just lapped (well started to) my first processor and need to test the temperature differences.

I like CPUID Hardware Monitor. Shows me everything my bios would show, plus Coretemp accurate cpu readings, HD, Video card, in a nice neat small package.

I use coretemp. It is the only one I use, so it is the only one I can recommend.

I just use speedfan. it seems to read the exact temp from realtemp plus it has more options like s.m.a.r.t., fan speeds, fan voltage regulation, nb, and hd temps.

coretemp didnt work for my proc. it recorded my tjunction wrong...

I use CoreTemp but it does not report NB, SB temperatures.

What other free software should I use?
