I have a GF4 Ti 4600 that my m8 has given to me due to it being well... screwed.
When I turn on the comp the GPU Bios and standard Bios are corrupt.
They look ok but have corrupt text or color text.
The corruption is always the same, i.e the B in BIOS is always green.

When the card gets to windows it looks like it heavily overclocked.
The mouse pointer leaves heavy trails n stuff.

Is this card ready for the bin or is there something I can try?

check its core and mem speed and if they are different then stock start decreasing them and flash with a suitable bios

Hmm its changed since I last tried it.
This time the \BIOS display is no longer colored just crrupt.
It loads into Windows and displays a strange pattern on screen.
The mouse cursor is no longer leaving trails but one bigger problem has arisen.
Once I install the drivers, it no longer boots into windows(monitor goes off after loading screen.

I wsh I could post an image to show you what I mean...

Is it possible for a card to be overclocked and somehow hold the settings, even after being on a shelf for months?

Im also thinking it could be a corrupt bios but I flashed it with a newer BIOS and its still the same.

Maybe its just dead :(

When you guys kill Cards what generally happens?
Do they just stop working or do they sometimes do some other things?

if you flash that 4600 bios then it cant hold its oc anymore
