a good size compressor is a full size refrigerator compressor, or somthing similar. try and avoid window ac compressors becasue they arent specificly designed for low temps that we are shooting for and become less efficient when operating in low heatload conditions. a refrigerator compressor is great for our applications, an r134a compressor, which most refrigerators use, can handle r404a. try and shoot for a 2000btu - 5000btu refrigerator compressor.

A/C compressors are good ut with oversized condensers when the freon is cold and the pressure is lower

snag a 1/4 HP low pressure unit and you'll
be good to go.
cap tube length? lot of variables to consider
here. with 404a start with 120" of .026 dia.
if you can.

.026 can be purchased in a 10ft. roll and that
would give you a starting point.
If you can't locate .026 then it would take approx.
150" of .028 to be its equal.
This is inside diameter cap tube..
