I heard something like 35dB; is it nice and soft, like you have to listen carefully to detect it, or is it a steady hum?
I plan on having one in my bedroom that would be on 24/7, so that means I'll be sleeping with it on, say 3.5m away.
Also is it possible to replace the fan, or would it screw up becuse the RPM needs to be controlled by the software?

What ????? Could you speak up !!! I can't hear you over my computer !!! lol
The promie I is pretty quite IF you don't add any fans too it, or the case. I can't speak for the Mach II.
Yes you can replace the fan and will work just like factory, or you can wire it so that it runs 100% all the time.

So what is the CFM rating of the stock fan?

well mach II is quiter......
but do not let the cfm of the fan consern you.they are controlled by the control board and they never run full rated speed even if you set them to 100%.and the mach II is using a strange wired up panaflo fan.i have yet to figure out that one.3 wires and a completely differant wired up unit

As you can see even at normal speed the Panaflo fans run at a very low rotation :)

My mach 1 was noisyer than I expected.
IT uses 120mm YStech fans at reduced voltage (7 or 8 i think)
But as there huge fans they still make some noise.
The compressor is very quiet so you can get the prommy very quiet if you alter the fannage.
ITs noisyer than my watercooling was, and I cant sleep with it on.

My Mach2 make a slight humming sound from the compressor ,not sure if this is normal as its my first prommie.Works fine though. The fans can be put on low noise and can spin at around 790rpm!.I can then hear the humming more then!I had a look inside just to check if it was virbration causing it but all looks ok.
If anyone else knows what this 'humming' please let me know.Hopefully its normal.

If you guys can't sleep with a prommie running
you just ain't smokin' the right kind of stuff.
My Mach 1 is real quiet.
But.... as we teach young boys. If you do "you
know what"....... it will make you hard of hearing.

ive slept with 2 waterchiller units running, and i was too lazy to remove the squirrel cages so they were making all kinds of racket. The booze probly didnt hurt though.
