audigy 2 ZS + win vista ... bleh

I've tried a gazillion different drivers and I keep getting pops, crackles, stutters, pauses.... you name it. Is this just something that I have to live with in vista? Also the system will pause and stutter sometimes in sync with some of the crackling and stuttering in the sound. I'm tempted to try the onboard out and see if it is any better.

I'm only using a trial of vista right now, my audigy 2 ZS works great in XP. Since I had to RMA my new motherboard I put my old 939 stuff back in and decided to give vista a try on my spare HD, leaving my primary drive with my windows XP installation for when I get the board back.

OK so I tried onboard, I still have stutter issues!!! So it isn't so much my sound card but rather vista itself being goofy.

Never had one problem with my X-Fi Fatal1ty in Vista x64 or Server 2k8. :shrug:

Well the whole system skips almost, I'm not sure why but the whole thing stutters. Even when I had no sound installed it was doing it.

its critical to remove all previous drivers or it wont work
