Received my Abit IP35 Pro and my Q6600 (SLACR) today. Just finished bleeding the system and she is up and running. I am letting the TIM set so it is only at 3.3 ATM. I will crank her up as the evening progresses. The vid on this one is not quite as good as my main rig, vid=1.2375 so it is not too bad.

I really like the looks of this board and have tweaked a few things and will play more as the TIM cures in.

Congratulations. I shall have to go overclock ! :D

Can't build what isn't here.
When your waiting on $10,000.00+ in free parts one has to be patient.
It's tough but thats all you can do..

My one and only quad has a 1.325 VID, one of the highest I have seen. Doesn't clock very well, 1.42v for 3600.

I got a 1.2125 VID from Microcenter a couple of weeks ago, one of their $200 retail box units, pack date of 2/26 so it was straight from the factory to my store ! I'm just now proving it out at 3.4, I think I have it at 1.31 or 1.33 in BIOS, Speedfan says it's got 1.24/1.25 Vcore. I don't know for sure that's the least it'll run stable with, I'm still trying to prove out that it's stable with the current settings.

My 1.325 takes over 1.5v to do 3600... and that's lapped under a true! Even then I'm not sure its stable.. unless it was wcg floating a couple of bad wu's my way that got me kinda suspicious.. I have it running 3.5 at 1.475.
Temps are nice at least.. even with over 1.5 they were 50ish loaded with an 18c ambient. That thing just doesn't want to be stable with lower volts though.

Guess I got the short end of the egg lotto then.. that 1.3 was just ordered a week or 2 ago... also at 5 bucks more... it was packed 10/07. Newegg musta dusted off an older pallet just for me.

I get 3600 at 1.4375v set in bios with load temps just under 50C with a TRUE on a asus P5K premium in a 68F room
cores run like 46-46-48-49

my q6600 is very happy doing 333x9(3ghz) at set 1,225 but under load its more like 1,18v :) (for some reason it wont boot at 3.6ghz any voltage i give it, maybe its my P5B-Dlx or my PSU giving up on me, both steady 24/7 crunchers for almost 2 years now ) nice and quiet and cheap to run.

But i think i need a new quadhamster, otherwise Dr.SiG is gonna catch me :)

I took my Q6600 out of the box, and slapped it on my mobo and booted right into bios. Changed some settings, set the Vcore to 1.50 and 9x400. Popped in a XP disc and did some tuning later... ;)

Is that not the prefered method? lol...

I'd drop the voltage some..I get 9x400 with 1.4375v..
I would drop to 1.45 then go down .0025v at a time, run some benches until it's unstable, then add .0050v and call it a winner.

How many volts is too many volts for a Q6600 on a TRUE?
I've been getting semi nervous at anything 1.5 or above. I may be pussyfooting it a bit, but didn't like the results I was getting compared to others I had seen. This is with the 1.325 vid chip..
My 1.3 is actually doing much better.. I need to stick it in a new board though, my 965p DS3 I bought when C2D first came out is drooping like mad with the quad. Pretty sure I have 1.4v or more in bios.. but reading 1.328 loaded up at 3400. Its probably past its burnin stage, I should take it down, lap it, and decide whether to top it with the old ninja+ its under now (hot though! 65-67c at 18 ambient) the zerotherm nirvana, or the xigmatech. :eh: I was experimenting a bit. :eh: I should have just bought trues, so far nothing compares to the feel of that bad boy. And I haven't tested them against it yet.. bad thing about testing.. it hurts production!
Anyway, I am hoping to get that 1.3's temps down.. and hoping it'll hit some nice clocks once its lapped and under a good sink.
