4DVI 3870X2 availability?

I've been waiting for the release of the ASUS EAH3870X2/G/3DHTI/1G (3870X2 with 4 DVI), and today I notice that it's no longer listed as a pre-order item on xpcgear; it says that the product is discontinued!

It is still listed on ASUS' global site, but not N. America.

Has anyone heard what's going on? Are there any 4DVI X2's available yet? Are there any in the works besides the ASUS and GeCube versions?

does the quad-DVI model take up three slots? it looks huge from the picture i saw. don't you think it would release a whole lotta heat into your case? sorry for not answering your question, but i don't know the answer.

As it's not reference its up to the AIB makers to change the board to add in the 3DVI ports,,, but as its still listed on ASUS I'm sure they MUST be selling somewhere? just obviously not on the site your looking on
