OK bit of info before you start jumping in with answers

Got a Vapochill system but its been dis-assembled for a
while and its not been used in a good year.

Anyway firing it up for the first time for a ickle project

however the following occur's....

Powers up Fan kicks in as Norm
Display shows Room Temp as expected
Compressor Kicks in ..... but last a whole 5 sec before stalling

No matter what I try inc adding some heatload to the head
same occur's everytime

Anyone here with a solution?

Thx
Paul.

check your power supply.that is the first thing you will see if you cannt keep 12v to the vapo at startup.

I'll double check incase its slipped but this is a modded
PSU it used to run a whole vapo-rig and 12v is or was
running around 13v last I used it in my Prommie its
a 431W enermax with 3.3v conversion and 5/12v conversion.

But I'll check that anyway :)

hook up the meter to the molex at the vapo and then watch as it starts....this maynot be it but i know a vapo will stop and restart if the voltage drops to 11v or so.simple thing to check first

Spot on m8y :toast:

Was PSU obvious inballance when 5v Line is not loaded up.

Powers up 13v as I expected but as soon as vapo kicked in
it started dropping and settled at 10.4volts which is concerning.

Ran it off the 12v Molex on my shuttle and all was well :)

Thanks bowman :toast:

chill control is shutting the unit down becasue of some reason..
do this run a 12v and ground directly to the commpressor by passing the chill control. next jump "C"/"P"/"T" with a wire connecting all three together on the compressor and then turn power on... if it turns over and after say 3min gets cold at the head it could have been that the comprssor had a hard start due to a long rest of coolant/oil cloging something up or the chill control unit could be bad..

there is a safey built into all vapos...you can disconnect all the sensors and the unit will stop if the voltage drops below 11v or so.it is that way because low voltage will burn up the unit very quicky.
i found this out testing one myself
