props to Travis Hayes from O/C forums with help on this and cheers to the folks at theforumisdown.com...

Travis' leadtek 5600 did 435mhz@1.45 volts and with the volt mod 480mhz@1.80 volts... my red generic 5600ultra does a bit more with watercooling....

with the stock cooling, the leadtek is at 100 celcius according to Travis... mine was at a more subtle 50 celcius with a koolance block...

like any other volt mod this will obviously voids ur warrenty, so... and also you'll need some SUP4 L337 H4><0R soldering skills, cause the pin is roughly half the size of what we've seen on the 9800 or likewise...

you'll also need a 15k variable pot,... hopefully with about 20 turns... cause once you cross the threshhold its .1v per turn... so...

look for the SQUARE Intersil controller here on the back of the 5600 near the molex plug...

attach the variable pot from pin 3 to GROUND...

5600 PDF, use pin 3

5900 PDF, use pin 7
http://www.intersil.com/data/fn/fn9092.pdf

use this cap for the core voltage mesurements http://www.theforumisdown.com/uploadfiles/users/hayes/files/fx%205600%20front.bmp

be sure to remember to set the pot on max BEFORE you start

pic of Travis' solder point on voltage controller.

base voltage should start at around 1.42v (generic) and 1.45v (Travis' leadtek)

the vmem uses the same controller as the 9700, same thing, i'll post a follow up soon with that...

for a 5600 ultra with decent modded cooling expect 500mhz core at 1.9v vgpu

and for the 5900 expect 5800 ultra core speeds at minimum

oh yeah, and thanks for all the help from Travis and i'm using all his pics.. so...

edit: reference 5200 ultras seem to have the same controllers, so this can apply to them as well...

sorry SpicyHuevos, but now to make it worse i'm adding 197k of the FX to Quadro conversion for a 5600ultra V 2.0

props to the chinese site myhard.com for this,....

one pic says all...

btw, you'll need to razor blade the heatspreader for this one...

ya you can go to futuremark. this volt mod and card hold the top spot under fx 5600 ulltras with 4004 in build 330 and 4205 in older builds.

i'm running 500/1100 mhz and used the card in junction with a Athlon 2600+@2500mhz and 434mhz FSB, to beat out Zakelwe with a 3.6gig P4 on a 800mhz FSB canterwood.

well i ave managed to get 530mhz on the core with extreme cooling (ice water) with 2.1 volts. temps around 75c under full load. but that seams to be the max with voltage regs if you can find a way to put i higher rated voltage regulator. i think i can hit 550 or better! once i adjust my pot to 2.1 volts, the voltage starts to fluctuate pretty bad, at the end of the run i'ts reading 2.3 volts.:grr: if i could get the voltage to stop going wild, than i'm pretty shure 550 wouldn't be a problem!

ANY THOUGHTS?

530mhz not bad for a revision 1.0! stock 350mhz:smileysex
