is there anyone that built their own fan controller?

Not yet, but I have this in mind: a fan controller that you can use to switch between 0, 5, 7 and 12 volt. It uses a "turn-switch" (i don't know the English word for it). The simply diagram you can see here:

It's a powerpoint file, and the text is in danish. I'm no elektrical guy, so my idea might not work, but time will tell.
