Laing DDC Top by Woyta

Almost half year ago, i started to scatch my DDC Top.
Why I started to scatch? Only Alphacool top were available on czech market. I were inspire by siplicity of OCLabs X-top. My resul looks similar to Petra's Tech Top but with different dimensions. Preview: http://woyta.jawagallery.net/data/PC/DDC/V2.5.JPG

My very simple flow test looks good, but it is propably realy inexact. DDC 3,2 9w Original top: 1liter/10second. My top: 1liter/less then 6 second. And there are little diferences (and one mistake) in prototype from final model. This week maybe i will have finaly material (plastic or acryl glass) for very small series.

I'm assuming your planning to make the final model out of something other than aluminum to avoid corrosion?

u can easily check the pump pressure.
The outlet is much bigger than petras, i think that would affect pump pressure in a bad way. Increase flow but devrease pressure

outlet doesn't really matter in martin's test. only the inlet has big significance.

I would like to check max delivery high (max pressure) but i haven't enought tubes. Maybe i will find something tomorow in local shops (small city).
If i fail i should order some from internet.

Right. Only prototype will be from aluminium (Should be from cooper :) )
I thing distance of face oposite impeller and diameter of inlet is very important for max pressure.
I have this depth only 7,45 mm (I don't know top what is closer to impeller) And inlet is 9mm (8.5mm prototype) which is little bigger then hole in standart impeller. If you want bigger inlet this option is there.

Impeller is probably to close to opposite face and in high load impeller is in contact with that face. Which decrease impeller RPM and performance. I heard some unstandart sounds.

Any other idea where is a problem?
