although I find the program sort of cheap, I managed to get a fairly high oc, but cpuz, wcpuid, or my computer does not update with the new speed

i have primed that speed & benched at 280 fsb (see sig)
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16499&highlight=vcore+cause+of+problems
My biggest problem is that over extened periods of time, when its on overnight & stuff, stuff gets slightly hotter thus I have to either lessen my ocs or turn it off for a while

I find that superPi and 3dmarks recognizes the change in fsb but sandra and cpu-z doesnt....

Visit www.cpuid.com (http://www.cpuid.com) and get the lastest cpu-z and clockgen. The latest version will let you see speed changes, and clockgen works well for changing speeds within windows.

in WCPUID open it, then select the option of realtime clock checker, then when the real time clock check doesn't display the times right, right click on that clock, and select properties, and check the box that says "use real time properties in windows"
atleast thats what I can remember after being awake 3 minutes now...;)

that is not an option under properties...

It has to do with HT, I just did a clean install with HT disabled and if I use Clockgen or Setfsb, all programs pick up the new speed take advantage of it. But the OS can never see HT, so it has to remain disabled.

o its that one
that one is quite different then real time properties

I don't know what you guys are doing wrong but Cpu-Z does read the new speed with you set it with setfsb. It's a new version so some of you may not have it
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
1.19a has the following new features
1.19a 08/13/2003 Start time has been greatly improved.
CPU, FSB, memory frequencies are periodically refreshed.
New Athlon64 and Opteron logos.

Youre right.... just did a fresh install myself and everything is recognizing clockgen.... it did it last time too till I enabled HT....

I don't get what you guys are doing. I just installed windows XP again about 5 minutes ago with HT enabled. Booted into windows with HT still on. Opened setfsb and cpuz and tried it out. Still works.

yep, but now use Clockgen or something and change the speed and watch what happens.
you overclock, but no program you use will see that.
