I got one of those really really cheap ipod radio transmitters. It is pretty staticy, but I figure it can be modded. Here is a snap of the from of the PCB.

Sorry for the :banana::banana::banana: quality of the second one, I would have to destroy the case to actually get the whole PCB out, and it isn't worth it until I have more info.

I figure the copper coils are the transmitters. Now would I be able to get better transmission if I soldered on a wire to those?

Hmm, I would think the coils would most likely be wire wound inductors as they do happen to be perpendicular to each other. Whether or not they're loading coils for the antenna I'm not sure, since a half wave antenna in the FM range without a loading coil would need to be about 1.5m long or .75m for a quarter wave...

Does it have an FCC ID? You could maybe look it up online in the database, because they sometimes have pics for the evaluated hardware.

Could also just be staticy because of crummy design and poor filtering :-/

I did a little more digging. Googled the model number on the PCB and got nothing. I did find out that it is a rip of the Belkin model. Same case, same PCB shape, but different PCB layout.
