Got a question, I usually test my new builds outside of the case on a large antistatic mat I have, and run them for a while to make sure there is no hardware problems (nothin annoys me more then getting the thing all built and wire routing perfect, just to have to take it all apart right away cause something is wrong with the new mobo or something)

But I was thinking, is that really safe to do? I been looking at tech stations (which seems like the proper, safer way to do this) and they all have support for card slots. Video cards are kinda heavy is it ok to just have then pressed into the card slot outside the case, with no support from moving back and fourth (and the monitor card line can add a bit more tension also)

Can this damage the PCI-E slot at all by doing this for any duration of time?

Done it so many times. Guys on here don't even have cases.
