Plextor Plexwriter 12/10/32S. Its an internal scsi optical drive.

manufacture date is 2002. I was given a (basically) brand new one. Not even dusty. Wonder if this old thing is worth playing with?

Plextor, they are allways expensive + it's SCSI that makes the price

The only reason I saved it fromt he scrap pile was I saw the back and noticed a fan about 25mm or so and was going to salvage it for a SB fan. I then realized this thing is SCSI and looks brand new. Has been in a plastic bag sitting in a cabinet for like 5-6 years.

Im just wondering if it is faster then my current IDE opticals that are only a couple years old? Because I'm sure I can get an interface card for it here to. This guy has tons of old cards laying around and when he needs shelf space he just pulls up a garbage can.. LOL

That is one vintage burner. Plextor was tops in their day. No real benefit to putting it into a modern system if you have a newer burner available.
