I think it is X48, because NV do not need the crosslix chip, an I think that this MB have it ;)

Lian-li had something special under wraps here at the pre-show day at CeBIT 2008. Hidden in a cardboard box was a pre-production sample of their brand new Xbox 360 chassis. Made from their lush black-brushed aluminum, the enclosure features enough space for all the internal components of the console along with pre-prepared water-cooling holes in the rear. In addition this chassis has the necessary preparation for elite owners to transfer their hardware too, with the space for the HDMI already catered for and the noisy cooling of the console replaced by a single low-speed 120mm fan on the rear.

CrossHair, Striker, Commando, Maximus, Blitz - Terms with historical and military connections. All quite appealing to the youngsters who want to look cool.

And then we have Pinot noir - a wine grape ... am I missing something?!

You should really include direct links from where you take the pictures. People will want to see more.

Pinos are very full bodied wines, very bold on the palate, and the price tends to reflect that. I like the name :P

I dunno bro, I don't look forward to paying 399.99 for a motherboard (which is typical of Asus) and while I do agree it's a very nice looking board, I would rather have it without all the heatpiping.

Silverstone have the odd new product at CeBIT 2008, the main one being a new mid-sized ATX tower which we managed to sneak an exclusive look at earlier today. With a simple silver colour scheme throughout, the main selling points of the chassis are the dual 200mm fans inside the case, one mounted upfront against the hard drives and the other is up on the top. The chassis is aluminium and features enough optical drives to suit any palette along with up to seven 3.5” HDD’s. There are clever little touches throughout, with clever cable management behind the HDD’s and noise absorption material around the PSU area.

The thing that would turn that 360 case from awesome to truely amazing would be if you could squeeze the power brick in there somewhere.

That new Silverstone case looks really exciting, however I still will be unable/unwilling to spend 300+ on a case. Anyway, the Asus mobo looks pretty nice, except the barbs leading outwards is kind of retarded, who's the genius who thought of that? Lian Li Xbox 360 case looks cool though.

Lian Li have done it again, just when you thought the shell-shaped special edition would be the last of the craziness we have a new one to add to the mix.
A slender tower of brushed black aluminium is the new offering on show here at CeBIT 2008. Still in the pre-production sample stages with improvements due over the coming months the tower features four optical drive bays, opening out from the sides of the chassis. Inside the tower the layout is anything but ordinary. There are four 3.5” drive bays down the bottom; the motherboard tray comes up next, with three 180mm fans cooling both areas. Further up we have the PSU area, which has the optical drives above it, along with space for a further two 3.5” bays. As specifications go its pretty tasty – even if it is a bit eccentric.

"Zalman has its brand-new GS1000 chassis here on display at CeBIT 2008. The mix of aluminium and plastic is well-finished and whilst appreciating that it's a pre-production sample, we have been advised the price-point should be in the $150USD ballpark."

Sometimes, short of writing everything down (isn’t foresight a wonderful thing?) we forget the product name, but you see this time we have an excuse, the new memory cooling solution from Gigabyte is both funky and downright cool. Featuring a self-contained water cooling system the unit is powered by a single fan header on the motherboard and features a pair of fans cooling a small radiator hovering above the dimms. The system features two heat spreader units with allow the liquid inside the system to move the heat away as quickly as possible. The pump on the underside of the radiator is designed to ensure vibration is kept to a minimum too. Without testing it we can’t say how effective it is at this time, and unless you are really pushing your system the need to water cool your memory is down to personal opinion.

hmm they talk about 3 GX2's here

Over on the Foxconn booth, we spotted the new Dreadnought mainboard fitted with Foxconn's 9800GX2 graphics card.

But the poor thing looked so sad on its lonesome, especially as the Dreadnought board is capable of running three 9800GX2 cards! However, we've been assured that at least one more card is on the way to join the party when CeBIT proper starts tomorrow.

Is it just me, or is that Zalman case looking a bit P182-esque, but without the obvious HD and PSU zones? And I'm saying that cuz I thought the P182 was just way too cramped. My 5-year old AX-01BLD was actually roomier than the P182...so I'm hoping Zalman isn't repating Antec's mistake there.

quite funny how everybody is showing 9800gx2 even tho its still under nda :D
no sight or mention of the 9800gtx whatsoever... weird...

Kingston is showcasing DDR3-2133...but stability is unknown... chipset used is nF790i ( looks like it can overclock RAM better than P35/X38/X48 ) and timings are...gay :D

A-Data will be showcasing their Vitesta Alpha Series with new "cooling solution" and a DI/LN2 tube.

There's something I can't talk about... but you could benefit from waiting a bit ;)

Thermaltake's second backroom-surprise on its sprawling stand was a concept that landed late yesterday. The company was unsure whether to even show it at CeBIT 2008 but we're glad that it did. t's a refrigerated system that's still very much at the concept stage. But Thermaltake hopes to use its research to push niche solutions out into the mass market.

A simple condenser - with fan - is mounted where the chassis' rear fan would normally go. This connects to an expansion valve from where cooled liquid passes up to the CPU plate. The liquid moves on into a reduced-sized compressor before returning to the condenser to start the process again.

With copper running throughout the system, though, different configurations will be needed to suit differing motherboard layouts. And that appears to cause big problems for Thermaltake's plan to take this system into the mass market.

The company's trying to figure out how to get around that problem but, right now, even slight variations between motherboard layouts could undermine the whole idea.

There are clever little touches throughout, with clever cable management behind the HDD’s and noise absorption material around the PSU area.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Dual 200mm:shocked:

[Thermaltake's Single Stage]

Wondering how it will perform and how reliable it will be.

First Post and guess what chipset it is

nv 8200. Hotter and slower than 780G. 8300 is so hot that it was
delayed again till at least april because of the heat problem.
Next question?

yeah
it's bad, but, sometimes you need to quote the pic for context
anyone know if there is forum code we can use to resize pics by manually defining the height and width they will display at?

It's MCP7A or 730i I mean.
I heard that there's lots of problems for A0 version of MCP7A but that will be fixed in B2 and ready for release for late April.

It's progress man. More air, less noise. With fans at least, bigger is just better. :)

Ed- Beat me to it.

I'm all over that if that is how it turns out.

I wish I was at CeBit!! It looks so much better than EHX or CES!!!!!!!!!!!!

the asus board looks like a waste. PCB and power could easily and silently be cooled by 2 or 3 yate loons

nvidia fails again. didnt they learnfrom 7950 GX2 that 2 pcb... *sigh*

lian-lis tall-arse case looks awesome, people are finally catching up to antec's P180
but the mobo placement isnt inversed - i really liked the inverse design

but the 360 case?
how many can they possibly sell?
how many 360 owners would like to void their warranty for silence and cooling? (XS memembers are not average 360 users, ok so 50 people will buy it)

that foxconn keg better be filled with LN2

Gigabyte should be spending more resources on customer support than making self-contained watercooling memory loops, imho

asus's htcp (PCIE 1x?) card looks awesome, i wonder if its nvidia or ati...

From Tomshardware The company remained tight lipped about the next generation of the very popular Raptor line of 10.000 rpm drives. All we know that the next generation is indeed on its way with initial samples possibly arriving as early as spring. WD promised us that the competition can expect "transfer rates of over 100 MB/s" and radical technological innovations.

so mini phase from thermaltake. a fantastic idea.
not even insulated, or maybe they just left that off for the event.

heres an idea for them: since that compressor is so small, it likely puts out maybe 110 psi high side, maybe, so use a stainless braided flex tube for the cpu lines, that way they flex and make it easier to install. just a thought.

I was thinking exactly the same. Flexlines have been out for quite a while :p:

But, I think that compressor will be too small for almost anything, unless you're into cooling Cellys, or if temperature isn't an issure...

Game is Flight Sim X I think... it allows you to have instruments etc on different screens.

All those monitors are connected to the right hand PC which has 4 * 3870s running on P45 motherboard.

Custom made cases by Foxconn.

625W to be precise.

Powering the following...

AMD Phenom 9500 quad-core processor
MSI 790FX motherboard
4 * Gigabyte Radeon HD 3850s in CrossFireX
4GiB OCZ DDR2 RAM
2 Western Digital hard drives
and a DVD ReWriter

Lian-li had something special under wraps here at the pre-show day at CeBIT 2008. Hidden in a cardboard box was a pre-production sample of their brand new Xbox 360 chassis. Made from their lush black-brushed aluminum, the enclosure features enough space for all the internal components of the console along with pre-prepared water-cooling holes in the rear. In addition this chassis has the necessary preparation for elite owners to transfer their hardware too, with the space for the HDMI already catered for and the noisy cooling of the console replaced by a single low-speed 120mm fan on the rear.

well if that's what gets you off (no pun intended.. or was it?), then you wouldn't
even enter the tradeshow. I've seen an article from Bild or maybe Spiegel quoted
somewhere that over 4000 "ladies" went to Hannover for CeBIT and are doing
double and triple shifts... :ROTF: you can also get that at local clubs, too, so
you wouldn't even have to travel to CeBIT. One does not travel to CeBIT for

Here you can see that a side window has replaced the logo-ed mesh area. Some may say that this is hardly earth-shattering but, from our ears-on experience, it's a good bit more significant than it might at first seem.

One of the big issues we had with the chassis during our testing was the noise. It was reminiscent of a a wind-tunnel, with matters not helped by the poor design of fan-equipped plastic side panel. Well, with that arrangement gone, noise levels should improve dramatically.

i want this case SOOOO bad!

The answer is yes, I have a couple of new SSD's here  to put in RAID 0

I also installed in and loaded OSX on a new mac laptop, less weight and less power with improved performance.

Along with a new uber PCIe RAID controller, I think released at Cebit. I am gearing up for pcmark and vantage damage.

More Cebit pictures from Hardware.info (Dutch):

2 new PSU-lines by Coolermaster; the Ultimate and the Silent Pro series.
The Ultimate name speaks for itself, the unit showed is a 1100W model. Efficiency on average about 88% and maximum output of 1320W, so they claim. Complete with stylish looks and rounded cables.

http://www.hardware.info/images/news/CeBIT08-CoolerMaster-NewPSUs-1.jpg

The Silent Pro is pretty much a Coolermaster's version of Corsair's HX series. They made it modular with flat cables and put a single 12v rail on it for overclocking. They also added a rubber edge to decrease vibrations. The efficiency for the 500W model showed is up to 85%.

http://www.hardware.info/images/news/CeBIT08-CoolerMaster-NewPSUs-2.jpg
