Foxconn Quantum Force Dreadnought nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard Pictured

Foxconn continues to impress with yet another high-end Quantum Force motherboard. Again only for Intel processors, the NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI powered board offers full 3-way SLI and Intel 45nm CPUs support, as well as built-in northbridge water cooling. This Dreadnought version supports up to 8GB of DDR3 only memory. The two removable BIOS chips, the post LED indicator and the 8-phase power are only a few of the great things presented in this mobo.

I feel like the name of the board is just a tad to short for my liking.

Good to see input from the overclocker community goes well in hand with making boards.

Looks like an awesome board. I like the built-in watercooling. Any rumors on how well it will OC?

The question is: is this one actually going to be available or is it just a proof-of-concept?

Do you ever have anything positive to say that doesn't involve you being a smart ass?

In that picture it looks if the fan that cools the chipset is very very close to the first pci-e 16x slot and that you can't put a long card in the first pci-e 1x slot.

besides that it looks nice

Quad Core ~460Mhz
Dual Core ~615MHz

At least that's what kingpin has gotten out of a 790i.

Their 590SLI board for AM2 was pretty good back in the day . ;)

metachronos, then you arent aware of the killer Mars and BLackOps results literally everywhere in this forum either....

Love the name, at least one company can come up with something that sounds good.

Foxconn obviosuly have the financial muscle to go right up against Asus now that they have taken an interest in this market segment. One thing they beat Asus in is in naming the boards. Black Ops and Dreadnought are better than Striker and Maximus IMO :)

The 790i looks like it could be the first good overclockers chipset from nvidia in a while for Intel. Wonder if it still has the memory holes and what the heat output of the northbridge is though? FSB seems good though.

Andy

Dreadnought clearly associates with 300+ mm guns mounted on those WWI battleships, sounds ominuous enough :D

Seems like DFI and Asus is getting som serious competition for the overclocker friendly boards. Not too soon. DFI overclockability (nice word) and ASUS stability in one board, that would be nice. Awsome name btw!

Nice board, will this board also be free of coldboot prob's? Like the Blackops

I am still nervous about foxconn and nvidia chipsets. the last foxconn board i bought waas on the nf4 chipset and it was terrible. i will wait to see the results on this. Nvidia is going to have to offer a lot better gpu's as well to get me to invest in another board from them. i learned a lot of lesson from the 680i. I hope this isnt a repeat.
