Surely someone would have found this already, so I'm skeptical as to whether this will do anything or not

I just used the VID table editor to change the 1.15v entry to 1.3v

I just used the VID table editor to change the 1.15v entry to 1.3v

When you do that, you are only changing the label displayed into Nibitor. The only field that the card are of the VID no between 0 to 3. 3 being always equal to 1.1V ;)

I'm not assuming. I didn't test myself but some people on this forum did and they confirm it was not working. Even the developer of nibitor, mavke, confirmed it. Check the 8800 GT bios mod thread for more information: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=164242
