Kingston Achieves Unprecedented DDR3 Memory Speeds

Memory manufacturer Kingston has managed to achieve unprecedented memory speeds using overclocked HyperX DDR3 modules combined with NVIDIA’s next-generation core-logic. The company managed to take its memory from stock speeds of 2.0GHz to 2.13GHz (a 6.5% overclock) using NVIDIA’s nForce 790i chipset without any special cooling systems, although no details of voltages or latencies were disclosed. Up until now, the fastest DDR3 memory has only been capable of running at 2GHz – a figure which Kingston, A-Data, Walton Chaintech and Corsair have all managed to reach. The modules used, which were the so-far unannounced Kingston HyperX PC3-16000 (KHX16000D2K2/2G) modules, will be available during the first quarter of this year – so presumably within the next month.

wow very nice mems and o/c @2.0v.

maybe we will see ddr3 really shine with new IMC intel procs?

Wow, at undisclosed voltages, they reached an unprecedented 2.13GHz...
except for some overclockers who have achieved that about as soon as p35-
ddr3 and 1333 ddr3 sticks came out last summer, but who cares about them!
A 6.5% overclock, isn't that great! The greatest thing since sliced bread!

Let the manufacturers' 1MHz one-upping contest commence!...
Cherry-picking micron chips ftw! just where have I seen this?...

nice to see ddr3 ram in 1:1 with oc'd processors within the year?

correct me if i'm wrong but in the Youtube video it shows him setting 2.0v in bios, which at that speed is pretty amazing

this is a great achievment, I wonder how long those sticks will last at 2.0V

shame about timings otherwise nice frequencies

2v is safe from what i hear

imo if it can't be done on a 4gb (2x2) kit - it's of limited use.

With Nehalem IMC we will see 2.5GHz+ DDR3 yields, i promise you.
I believe this is D9GTS, 1.5ns part. D9GTR 1.87ns part is better for lower speeds/lower latencies.
Only i'm fearing about picking that high speeds designed for only one chipset. People without knowledge will still try to put this in weaker chipsets therefore weaker MCH and therefore could not hit rated speeds at any timing/voltage configuration that causes higher RMA rate. I wouldn't make 2GHz+ DDR3 memory sticks until Nehalem and clearly stating that this is reccomended or Nehalem only.
Thats like Teamgroup 1300MHz DDR2 memory. Try to reach this speed on i965/i975. Even lots of P35 boards have hard time hitting 1200MHz due to crappy ram support/power circuit.

how dose unlinked count thats like running 1-2 extra points on the cas its not a big accomplishment
