Has anyone had personal experience with both and are willing to share the pros and cons on which would be better to be used on a PC?

I assume you are referring to the gamepads? If so, I've been using the XBOX360 controller (both wired & wireless) and they work quite well. I've found that many of the newer games are pre-configured for use with the XBOX360 controller. So, that makes things really plug'n'play.

Thanks for the reply. I originally wanted a 360 controller but since hearing the Sixaxis will also work on the PC I have been geared more towards this as I love the feel of the PS pad over the Xbox. The Xbox pad does sound more plug and play/user friendly however. I was hoping someone who had more info on the Sixaxis or a comparison could chime in and help me out?

I have the wireless dongle you can buy to use the Xbox 360 wireless controller on the PC. I use it for gaming on my HTPC and it works beautifully and like omega1alpha said all the games for windows branded games automatically detect it and put the games in controller mode its great.

I originally used the Sixaxis I followed the guide here (http://www.hdtvarcade.com/hdtvforum/index.php?showtopic=8088) to get it working. As you can see its not quite a plug and play you have to do a little hacking to get it to work. Once you get it working it shows up under your control panel as a standard game pad where you have to set up the buttons and sensitivity for each game.

Having used both I can say that the 360 controller is a much better experience and personally I think it feels much better in my hand than the PS controller.

Thanks for the input guys. I have decided not to get either at the moment. I borrowed both from a friend at work who has both consoles. I love the feel of the Sixaxis, especially since the rumble enabled Dual Shock 3 is due out in the US next month. The problem is, the drivers suck for reliability and do not work in Vista X64 at all. The Xbox360 controller works however I do not like the feel at all. I highly doubt it, but I will wait it out and see if a better driver for the Sixaxis comes along that works in Vista X64. I don't really need a controller right now, just thought it would be nice to have a good one for emulators etc. I find the digital directional pad MUCH better on the PS controller over that of the Xbox which doesn't feel nearly as 'tight'.

I just use $20 PS2 gamepads (new on Amazon) with a USB gamepad adapter (also on Amazon). It can accept 2 controllers at once and is basically an interface to make your computer see it as a PC gamepad.

It works 100% in all the newer games I have tried, and there's nothing better for my ZSNES collection of emulated games ;)
