Prometeia Problem .. need some help

Well, i think some eletrical component is broken at my prom.

I turn the prom on, and it buzzes .. like an eletrical buzz .. a bit loud. The chillcontrol gives the temperature .. and a few seconds later ir gives me and Err3 .. at the prom manual it says it can be a warm condenser (the condenser is cold) or power failure. I've managed to check what is the piece that is making the noise .. i've a link to a photo i took. Can it be that if i replace this component it will work ok again?

The prom was working like a dream .. it's moded to r404a.

Do you see that bent contact where the connector is missing? Is it supposed to be connected to anything?

Nop .. it comes like that eeheh. I've checked with a friend .. it is the same as this one.

I've tested the prom, ignoring the error and the annoying beep, and it worked like normal .. it reached -55º no problem .. so i think the problem is really with the rele (don't know how u say it in english :)

relay? Wait and see what Bowman has to say before you do anything...he will be in here later on.

Probably that's it. I don0t realt know what it does exactly, don't know much about eletric stuff.

If it is the relay that is the problem, you can probably buy one here:

Thanks m8 .. but i'm from portugal, so i just need the specs from this one and i'll buy it here. Let's hope it's only the relay.

ok that is the latching relay from the unit.

if i am not mistaken it takes the 12v source from the power supply and latches the 220v (in your case)closed and starts the compressor.
now it could be bad...but i doubt it...

do me a favor...check the 12v reading with a meter at the molex.if it is low it will cause the relay to not latch all the way and buzz like crazy and also make the controller read errors.
please try that first..if the voltage is fine then replace the relay

I've checked the voltage of the psu i'm using to fire up the prom and it gives me a reading at 12.30~12.45, so i think that's not a problem.

So i can assume the relay is realy the problem .. i've touched it and it's vibrating like a mad dog when buzzing at the same time. Can this be the cause of everything? or something else can be the cause of this? I'm asking this, because the compressor seems to be working fine .. it goes down to -55 in a quicky.

Well .. i'm gona try and get a new relay tomorrow, and thanks again!

well as long as it is getting a good 12v yep replace it.it does pull voltage off the controller it is possable it is making the control act flakey.

Well, i've tried another thing .. without suplying any 12v via the molex (the prom won't start), i've conected the prom to the 220v outlet .. and guess what .. the relay starts to buzz .. so new relay is needed :D

Well .. what can i say .. Thanks a lot bowman and thedude .. i've replaced the relay .. and VOILA!!! It's working awesomely again.

I was so damn nervous when i powered the prom .. what if it didn't work? eheheheh.
