Hi guys , Chances are high i will have a Sony 24" CRT screen type GDM FW900 this evening .
Since I am used to dual monitor setups i would like to put a 24" TFT screen next to it to extend my desktop .
The Sony will be used as main screen : Games / picture editing/ movies .
The TFT screen next to it will be used mainly for chatting / web browsing / Text reading .
Now my question is , what TFT screen would you guys recommend . Pricerange I am looking at is around 450€ . The screen needs to be able to output a 1920x1200 resolution , same resolution as I will be running the sony screen at . I would also like to have as many inputs as possible (DVI/RGB/HDMI ...)
O and don't come suggest i better put another FW900 next to it . My desk can't hold these kind of jokes .

Is a 24" really needed for general web browsing and messaging? You could save quite a few pennies by using a smaller screen for those purposes.

If a 22" or 20" can do 1920x1200 then thats alright too ;)

Anemone , believe it or not I wanted to replace my old CRT screens by 2 of these . But then i read user opinions and reviews on the [H] ..
It seems that this premium priced screen of 800€ has 60ms input lag ! Now that made me revert back to CRT and not go TFT (yet) as my gaming screen .
Also as i said , the monitor is way too expensive for what it gives . (800€ , that's around 1200$ )
I'm looking at a 450 pricerange , can be a bit up but not twice as much :)
I saw the Iiyama B2403WS for around 450€ . But things i dislike are :
-TN panel
-no picture in picture
-only VGA and hdmi connector
-speakers look ugly and are not needed

since you are used to the quality of this trinitron, the only option i can recomend you is find one whit the panel based on IPS technology, like the S-IPS (most common to find). search for TFT models you like and then check the kind of panel they have on this site: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ and forget about response time (ms), an S-IPS whit 16ms black to white is fast like a TN with 4ms grey to grey and an S-PVA whit 6ms grey to grey. the S-IPS ones respond and are measured diferent because have a much better quality. and i had a trinitron and i'm glad to change for an S-IPS because the damn thing was starting to fry my eyes ;)

thanks for the suggestions and that link ! very informative .
I've looked on the website and it seems like the Hazro HZ24W is a good screen for me .
Only thing is : where do they sell it ? I can't seem to find any prices for Hazro screens on the net . Not even on their homepage .
If I can't find it , i might digg around a bit more on the tftcentral website to see if i find another one which I like and has a IPS panel .

Man am I jealous of you, I don't think there are any other person who would want to get a trinitron CRT in good shape right now more than me. But for me 21" is enough and capable of 1600x1200 @ 100Hz, especially P1130 would be lovely but of course tha Sony one would be even nicer but then I'd need a new desk as well.
That 24" CRT is crazy really, 1920x1200 @ 100Hz.
its not just about 1920x1200 @ 100hz.. he has that AND infinite contrast ratio.... lucky lucky lucky
ive been looking into some HDTV dlps that have 100hz refresh rate at 1080p and infinite contrast ratio

I have a 17 inch IIyama diamondtron which were regarded as the best screens around when I bought it. My dad was right stingy and wouldnt get me one of their beautiful bubble shaped 19" ones. If I had one of them it would sell for SOOOO much now.
Any Ideas if I can get anything for my 17 inch one anymore?
