I'm looking for a nice selection of power supplies, but not just any.. im looking for the kind that is used in cd/dvd duplicator's. because if my assumption is correct, the power supply they have on thous things are simply push button on off. See what i want to do is put my water cooling rig in a separate box and have all my water stuff in there I.E radiators, reservoirs, pimps, temp probes, and maybe a few other things in there. So i was going to use that style power supply because it doesn't need a 24pin connector to control it. I also like that style case because they don't come with a front I/O panel with a USB or w.e (witch would be pointless to have if the things not even going to have a motherboard). besides, these cases are nice and plain and are begging to be modded. im sure there's a way to daisy-chain two power supplies together and run them that way but i want to avoid that. but I'm open to solutions...

AT power supply.

But to be honest, an ATX will still work. You just put a switch on a pair of wires that jumper the green and a black wire on the 24-pin and you're good to go.

Cut all but the green and black wires off the 24-pin connector?? ;)

Seriously, the ATX is going to be cheaper due to availability. From the sounds of it, you're only going to be using +12V, so if price is no object you could just get something like a Mean-Well +12V PSU with a manual switch and call it a day. It's not that unusual of an application.

i thought of that.. opening up the PSU and only leaving 1 or 2 cm inside..for each of the wires just incase you know.. and leaving it that way...

thanks bud..

newegg had an AT PSU cheap but like johnny said, you can just cut all but the green and a ground wire right off the PSU and add a switch
