I have a fishtank and to be honest, all of those products are designed to HELP plants grow by conditioning the water.

I would advise against using them.

An Anti Algae treatment for fishtanks might be ok for you...

If you really want to prevent algae you need an additive that would end up being harmful to fish as well...and since those are meant to make it more habitable for fish I personally wouldn't use them to try and stop algae growth.

Honestly you are better off with a antifreeze additive, PTNuke which can be found at Petra's, or something of the like.

Gotcha, thanks for the help. I feel kinda silly not even knowing what these products do.

Don't, we all had to learn from someone. I use PT-nuke. Only 2-3 drops and a bottle will last a LONG time. Cannot beat it for a few bucks!

ROFLROFL i was gonna say the same thing.

The point of distilled is so its chemical, and additive free. You add addtive to inhibit growth, not to promote it by adding those additives you use in fish tanks.

Unless you intend on having a guppy go though your loop an infinite amount of times.. assuming it doesnt get chopped up in your impeller or stuck in the pin matrix of your blocks.

Aquarium Algaecide works great, just follow label directions.
