I got my D-Tek Unisink for the R600, and I finally got it installed, using a Swiftech MCW60! They both fit perfectly and it is extremely easy to install! Pics (click to enlarge):

Very nice, are your OC's any better using this? I hope/wish they make this for the 3870's to:up:

Does anybody else that has one of these know if you can take off the thermal tape things and replace it with AS Ceramique or something? I don't think they are making very good contact, the vrms especially. It was a bit off center, and I get temp readings for each vrm that are way different, like one will be 60 and another will be 90. Although I never checked them before I got the unisink, maybe thats normal.

Did you do a visual check before you mounted the Unisink...I thought this was an old problem...did you check and make sure the thermal pads are touching the Memory? I thought they fixed this problem?

did u buy it from a retailer or off a friend, etc. u could have a Rev. 1. it was the same problem with the 8800GTX/Ultra. the TIM pad made terrible contact.

Got it from ncix within like the last 2 weeks. And the R600 unisink is a new product from d-tek.

So the thermal tape pads probably are poor heat conductors anyway, would it be possible to use paste instead? Or would the sink get too close to the PCB, or bridge something and cause a short, or crush a tiny smd resistor or cap? Thats what I'm worried about mainly.

How hot does the sink get?

You can try using some thermal paste between the memory and the pads, that helps sometimes.
