as the title says anyone done it? if so is there any gaines? Im thinking if doing mine. room temp of 23c cpu idle 31c, load on small tft's after just 7seconds shoots upto 56c thats with my little e4300 @ 3.25ghz and 1.3625vcore, my water cooling setup....
D5 pump
D-tek fuzion with 5.5mm nozzle plus washer
1/2"pipe
Pa120.2 rad
with 2X Yate Loon 120mm fans
- Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25mm
- Rated speed: 1650 RPM ±10%
- Sound: 33.0 dB(A)
- Air flow: 70.50 CFM
xspc resivour
setup - pump->rad->cpu->res->pump
I lapped my cpu that helped quite abit but i would like temps in the 40's not nearly 60c! i lapped my cpu untill it was all copper. Temps seem to stop @ 57c. but when i feel the air from the back of the rad they dont feel even warm rad case is also cold. Ive remounted the block 3 times using MX-2 paste.
Thanks:confused:

lapping the fuzion would probably hurt you more than it would help since it is already as flat as possible.
perhaps you are not using enough pressure? are you using a backplate?

the fuzion comes prebowed from factory. lapping doesn't help

I have some stains on mine post coollaboraory pad install. Shall I just give it little polish then?

if you are worried about stains they will likely come off with ketchup/vinegar..

Try ketchup, or Tarn-X. Maybe some Brasso if those don't do the trick.

Ah the old acetic acid trick. Nah that didn't work! Now where's the blasted brasso.....

The Fuzion is lapped...how do you think they get the mirror finish!!

Yes, but then bowed. And it's machine lapped, better than any hand lapping job.

no i dont have the back plate would that help? I cant understand why temps jump straight up even with a res i would have thought it would take a while for the system to warm up. Ill buy a back plate and see how it goes maybe i have a hot chip, but still thats alot of heat for the vcore im using 1.3625volts.
Thanks

what happens without a backplate and too much pressure is your mother board bows, thus relieving pressure from the chip, causing a bad contact and high load temps.
get a backplate asap. No one should be using a bowed block without one.

So it the D tek pro mount kit an " ideal " solution? Others here seem to prefer the original mount.

I love my pro mount. It made mounting a no-brainer and all 4 cores is actually within 1C at idle. The original mount is sometime better but you need to guess how much pressure you are putting on the 4 corners and this often lead to uneven core temps but if well executed, it may give 1-2C better.

So if it only gives 1-2c that still dont explain why my temps jump so high in such little time for small vcore. Ill order one tonight when i get home from work as there only £10.99 and see how that goes. Is my 1/2" to big or would thiner pipe be better?
Thanks again.

Just wait till you get the pro mount before looking at more causes. Another one is a airlock in the cpu block.
Is my 1/2" to big or would thiner pipe be better? 1/2" tubing is the best choice (performance wise). You definitely won't have better temps if you switch to thiner tubing...
Another one is a airlock in the cpu block.
Му temps are also jumping on almost 30C in one second when the load is applied. I'm sure I have no any bubbles in my CPU block (it has an acrylic top, I see no bubbles). So I guess the reason may be inside CPU. May be bad contact between the core and IHS...

Cheers will do. ive had it set up for about 2 months now when i filled the system i took the screw out the top of my rad till water came out. How would i get the air out my block? if there is air init. Tip my case side to side?
Thanks

That's weird, my Q6600 is hovering around 45C under load at 3.7 GHz, 1.4625v. However, I have both a PA120.3 and a MCR120 along with the Fuzion pro mount.

I could really do with trying another cpu to see if it has the same problem, maybe a faulty mobo sensor

Well, he may not have better temps but there is no huge (+/-.02) difference.

Well ive ordered my pro mount and 2 more powerfull fans than the yate loon ones i have now also a pa120.2 shroud plus one of these http://www.thecoolingshop.com/product_info.php/cPath/33_64/products_id/1991. Im also trying my mate cpu in my board,
ill just put 1.4v through it for a heat test just to make sure its not a dodge chip that runs hot.
Thanks,
Chris.

Yes, this thread is great! It can be found from a tubing sticky thread.
But what I said is true, that OP will not have better temps if he switches to a thiner tubing, I didn't say that he will have much worser. ;)

What a bozo! He took a water block with an intentional bow, and lapped the water block completely flat, so that it would perform worse than the bowedblock would have performed. Talk about shooting his own toes.

Someone please neuter that guy right now, so he can't have any kids and spread his stupidity....and if he already had kids, take them away...NOW!
If you don't neuter him, he may eventually corrupt the human race !! That's the end of the world !!

Ouch, what a bozo... At least, lap while not being mounted !!!
Someone bring the neutering hammer asap...
