My 580 watt is getting a bit too tight, and I'm going on another round of upgrades this year.
I'm planning on running all these:
-5 Sata HDDs
-1 or 2 DDC+ or D5 pumps
-eventually dual 9800 GTX (once they come out, will have dual GTs in the mean time)
-Quadcore 45nm with high overclock (once the mass market ones drop)
-two optical drives
-misc fans/ect
-8GB ram
-Prelude sound card
all on a 780i board
....yeah a 580 will melt at powering that. I'm thinking between the Ultra X3 1000 watt or the Thermaltake 1200 watt.
Right now I am leaning toward the Ultra X3 because it's modular and I won't have to do anything to make it match the rest of my case. The thermaltake specs don't say modular, and all the pics they have of them only show the back.... So I don't think it is. Which should I go with? Suggestions?
Also: silence is nice too, but I think neither of them are going to be turbines.
